El poliol de polièster és una de les principals matèries primeres del poliuretà de polièster. Es pot dividir en poliol alifàtic i poliol aromàtic segons si conté anell de benzè o no. El poliol alifàtic és principalment glicol de polièster d'àcid adípic. El poliol poliuretà de polièster alifàtic té una gran resistència i resistència al desgast perquè conté grups més polars com el grup èster i el grup amino. Els diols de polièster alifàtics (principalment polièster àcid adípic) s'utilitzen principalment per produir poliuretà fos. elastòmer, elastòmer de poliuretà termoplàstic, sola de poliuretà microporosa, resina de cuir PU, adhesiu de poliuretà, tinta de poliuretà i pasta de color, recobriment de teixits, etc. Colada El poliuretà de polièster aromàtic té una excel·lent resistència a la hidròlisi, resistència a la calor i adherència.
